((OOC: This thread happens after the Red Flare cargo of illegal weapons was stolen by Scourge. The time is approximately early morning (around 5am), and Hec has ordered Catra and E'cho to go after the thieves. Hec is at the cantina ranting and having a fit, and Solus is there with him making sure nothing happens to Hec (BECAUSE SOMETHING MIGHT). Firo is at the cantina to see the damages (and possibly yell at Hec or someone) and so is Tyre since Red Flare had gotten the cargo from him. Balin is at the cantina to assess the situation and to make sure Hec doesn't do anything stupid.))

[Solus Tor]

Calmly taking in his surrondings Solus observed the enusing chaos with a clincal and emotionless attitude.
He had a job to do and what had happened here had nothing to do with it...well not enough to concern him at any rate. Some shabla Scourge members had decided to steal Hecs cargo, that was a mistake knowing what he did from his brief time with the man. Contardi's getting bolder it seems, Solus tought to himself

He wondered what the cargo might have been, hopefully not Sfors...so far he was the only person this side of coruscant who owned one. However if that fact were to be no longer valid, he had no qualms about aquiring the second.

He saw Hec pacing around shouting at times and muttering at others. Solus wondered if he should say anything to the man try to cool him off but dropped the idea when he saw the lawyer, Balin, was his name wasn't it? Walking over as if he had nothing better to do,
"So what's your opnion on this matter? I'm not sure what was in those cargo crates but it's gotten Mr.Kohler into a hell of a mood."

[Balin]

“I should tell you this right now, but Hec gets this upset if someone takes his loose change. But… this time I think his anger is appropriate. Scourge stole some weapons… some illegal ones. I’m going to pretend I didn’t know he had illegal cargo though,” Balin said as he had his arms across his chest and his hand holding his chin.

Balin watched as Hec shouted about everyone being useless before flipping a table over. The lawyer was going to let Hec get his rage out before approaching him.

“The best thing to do is hope Hec can get the cargo back or destroy it so Scourge doesn’t have the extra firepower,” Balin moved up his sleeve to look at his watch.

“Hec sent quite a few,” that was a bit of an understatement… “men after the thieves in his bout of rage. Now if I was Contardi I would know how Hec overacts when people show any disrespect towards him. It’s likely that she might have sent someone over to clean things up here after lowering his numbers. I’d keep a close eye out for anything that looks suspicious,” Balin told Solus.

[Firo and Tyre]

As if Hec's angry cries were not enough, another voice joined them.

"... in my cantina! I hired you to protect the place from any possible damage, and what you have done? Just look at this! Or this! They're ruined!"

Firo Jalle, the owner of the cantina, looked dishelved and balancing on the verge of a fit, his red skin turning scarlet with a slight bluish hue. He stormed into the store room without paying any attention to the raging ganglord and his men, followed by Tyre, who seemed serene if a bit tired. And tired he was, for he has been listening these indignant and grievous wails for quite a while without a chance to interrupt. Now, when Firo made a pause to pump some air into lungs for another fifteen-minute aria of an angry employer, Tyre finally intervened.

"Mr. Jalle, with all due respect let me remind you that you yourself withheld some important information concerning the character of this job, which resulted in my inadequate performance, not to mention that you declined my advice on the ways to enhance security. In your place I would be thankful that I do not try to skin you for what is usually called "a set-up" and still act civil," all this the Mandalorian said with the same air of serenity and a polite smile.

Firo huffed, puffed, but piped down.

"But you stored a potentially dangerous cargo in my cantina!" This was already not a cry, just a loud speech.

"And again, you are slightly misguided, for I did not store anything. I only gave the cargo to the Red Flare representative as a go-between, not a dealer even. The decision where to store it was theirs, not mine," Tyre sighed and closed his eyes for a second. "But I do admit that I should have forseen it and prevented Mr. Kohler from using the cantina as a storehouse for illegal goods."

He managed to make the last statement sound sarcastic, which was not difficult, given the Hec's reputation for doing as he pleased and where he pleased without a slightest respect for the others' concerns - and his current violent state.

The effect was exactely as Tyre thought - Firo turned his anger to Hec Kohler, giving him a break.

"And you, Mr. Kohler! Why didn't you inform me that you were using my cantina to store your goods?" The ex-gambler charged the enraged ganglord, who was about to break a table. "And don't you damage my furniture! It didn't steal your kriffing cargo!"

Tyre smiled. Brave man, this Firo, attacking Hec like this during his infamuos fit.

[Balin with a little bit of Hec]

Balin had been studying the other people in the cantina. He didn’t think he saw anyone out of place. He stopped on one person in particular but before he could read them any further. Someone else caught his attention. He watched Firo head towards Hec while he yelled at him.

“Mr. Jalle, please-” Balin stepped forward and extended his reach out to Firo. It was useless seeing that he was on the other side of the cantina, but worth a shot. Balin almost wanted to turn around and not look.

YOUR CANTINA? IF IT WASN’T FOR ME YOUR CANTINA WOULD OVER RUN BY FILTHIEST SCUM OF THE CITY AND YOU WOULDN’T BE WEARING THAT SHINY SHIRT OF YOURS. THIS CANTINA MIGHT AS WELL BE MINE YOU RED DANDY!” Hec bellowed. Balin crept closer but still kept his distance.

“I COULD CRUSH THIS PLACE IN A HEART BEAT AND I WON’T HESISTATE TO THE NEXT TIME YOU CROSS ME. BALIN!” Hec looked past Firo and at the Lorrdian who did his best to keep his composure.

“Yes sir?” Balin asked in a much softer voice.

“GET THIS FLAMING ZELTRON OUT OF MY SIGHT BEFORE I SKIN HIM AND MAKE HIM INTO A PAIR OF BOOTS!” Hec shouted as he turned and flipped another table. Balin brushed back a piece of his hair and came up to Firo with his data pad.

“I apologize for Hec’s behavior Mr. Jalle. Now, how many credits do you think will cover the damages?” Balin asked Firo.

[Solus Tor]

Solus watched the whole scene taking place with a small amount of bemusement. Honestly shouting at the top of ones lungs would not get Hec's cargo back or restore the Cantina, Solus noticed the lawyer's way of handling the situation and thought that if he weren't a pen pusher he might have made a decent mando.

While he appeared to be not taking notice of anything in particular (the advantage of having a helmet with panaramic vision) he certainly was keeping an eye out around him.

While things may have cooled down here slightly at least in the sense of the firefight being over as brief as it had been. The only casualties had been those from Red Flare, apparently scourge had new and better hired help. That and Saki had been here, he knew it..from the precise slots in the forheads of some of the guards he knew it was her handy work, if they were under different circumstances he would have congratulated her.

Tyre seemed to have been released from the argument, for once Solus did not feel the urge to pester the old mando, he looked tired enough as it was and despite outward appearances Solus looked up to him.

Best to just get on with my job...and keep up this badass mando act for a while longer

((OOC: Zefron is yours to kill (maybe give him a post or two to fight), but Flay is going to escape. ENJOY!))

Zefron fingered the trigger of his rifle. His heart wouldn't slow down. The thrill of the hunt never got old. Zefron stood completely still, balanced on the rafters where the light fixtures hung. Below him, the Red Flare leader was flipping a shit at Firo. Only two other men were in the vicinity, one of them was a human in a suit and the other was a Mandalorian. Zefron blew air out of his nose. The Mandalorian would be a problem. But not if Zefron could pull this off.

Zefron looked up and across the cantina where his partner, Flay, was waiting. She was flipping her knife between her fingers, and Zefron could almost see the glint of hunger for blood behind her mask. Zefron respected the Ubese--she had more of a thirst for the kill than he did. Flay's mask tilted and he assumed that her gaze met him. She nodded.

Raising the scope to his eyes, Zefron lined up a shot with Kohler's head in the middle. Flay threw a smoke grenade. He breathed out, and fired.

"Fierfek," Zefron swore. Kohler was bleeding but he wasn't dead--he was still standing. At once, he and Flay dropped down from the rafters. Zefron brandished his vibroblades and swung at the Mandalorian, the closest opponent. Flay hit the ground behind him and immediately leapt for Hec Kohler.

Zefron was a little too embarrassed about the missed shot to taunt the Mandalorian, so he simply threw everything he got at the glowing visor of the Mandalorian. The smoke made it nearly impossible to see, but that was the point, he supposed.

[Solus]

Just when things seemed to be going well there was the pawt pawt and the room filled with thick smoke. Cleaver tactic...for non-mandalorians. Solus changed his visor mode to heat sensing and quickly brought up his own vibro blade in time as one rushed to meet him.

"You made two bad decisions today, first was coming here....second was picking a fight with me."

Solus gave a ruthless grin unnoticable under his helmet. He spun and thrust his blade...the Zabrak dodging it barely. The Zabrack in turn replied with a counter attack a lower cut that Solus had to jump over.
This guy was quick, he had to give him that much...but his attempts would be futile even if he landed a blow it would merely ping off his armour...well it should....

Solus attempted an upercut which was again parried...this was gettign frustrating he needed to get to Hec right away...enough playing around...Solus reached out and grabbed the Zabrak by the throat lifting him into the air. His opponent struggled to get out of his grip but Solus held on...he pulled out his SFOR Carbine with his other hand pointed it in the general direction of the mans torso and fired. He discarded the smoking corpse of the once very lively Zabrak and turned his attention to where Hec had been.

He saw two humanoid shapes in his visor but couldn't tell yet which was Hec and which was the assassin...darn smoke. He fired his carbine in the general direction to get their attention then charged.
He would not fail not on his first mission to protect Hec...he was mandalorian a born warrior and he would do his duty...

[Hec]

Hec was feeling a little better after flipping another table. He was still furious, but his mind was clearing. This was just what Contardi wanted him to do, lose focus and yell at everyone. He wouldn’t let her get the better of him.

“BALIN! WHERE ARE YOU? GET OVER HERE,” Hec snapped his head in Balin’s direction and the side of his head started to sting. His hand immediately went to his head and he pulled it away after he felt something warm and wet on his fingertips. He looked down at his hand and saw his blood. He looked around him but couldn’t make out anything in the smoke. He felt someone hit him and he fell backwards a little. He regained his balanced and tried to grab at whoever was out in front of him and push them away.

[Balin]

Balin pushed Firo down and hit the floor at the first sound of trouble. He was more surprised than he should have been. Where had they come from?! After a brief second of confusion he looked around the cantina. He coughed and tried to clear the air in front of him. He heard sounds of a struggle but could see anything at all.

“Mr. Jalle! Stay down!” he whispered to the man. Why hadn’t Balin said anything to warn Hec about sending a majority of his men to catch the Scourge thieves?

There was hardly anything Balin could do for Hec or anyone now. Balin felt around his coat and pulled out his stingbeam. He wouldn’t use it until he had better a visual. The last thing anyone needed was him firing his stingbeam at random.

[Tyre]

And I thought it was a lousy morning.

Tyre regretted not having his helmet in place when the smoke grenade exploded and the hell broke loose, but though he was coughing and his eyes were watering, he managed to make out two intruders. He would give them a cookie for a textbook performance if only the unlucky Zabrak has been a better shot; unlucky, because not only did he miss Hec, but also attacked Tor. Solus might be an unpleasant person, but he did love his job, and what he loved he did well.

Tyre had no intention to do so, but somehow he happened to block the second assasin's way. The Ubese - yes, it definitely was an Ubese with this snout-shaped mask - attacked him with a direct thrust of the knife, which would be clumsy and straightforward, has it not been so quick and fierce, but the Mandalorian shifted his torso a bit just in time to let the knife slide off his breastplate and to parry hard with an armoured gauntlet, aiming at the not so well protected throat with the left hand at the same time.

Normally such a parry would crush the wristbones clear, but the Ubese was smart enough to put on some wristbands, so she just dropped the knife, and managed to escape having her throat crushed as well, falling down and bringing Tyre with her as well with a nicely done cutting-down. They grappled and rolled on the floor, the Ubese persistantly trying to kick the Mandalorian in the place where kicks should never be aimed, but this time it was her turn to be disappointed by a smartly placed piece of armour.

And while the assassin tried to head-butt Tyre, he wiggled out of her grip and, now being on the top, pinned her down with a knee. The Ubese kept kicking and trying to throw Tyre down again, so just to make his position more secure he clenched her throat with a hand and pressed the knee into her spine harder, making it clear that further struggle would result in a broken neck.

"Now, now, sweet lady," he panted, coughing and sniffing, "calm down or I'll have to break your spine."
