PostSubject: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2   Sun Oct 11, 2009 4:21 am

See the trailers here: http://modernwarfare2.infinityward.com/games.php

The storyline:

It continues where we left off in Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, with the world facing dangerous political instability in Russia. Though the revolutionary warlord Zakhaev is dead — thanks to the heroics of Cpt. Price in Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare — the situation hasn't improved.

Zakhaev was the villain in the last game, so once you've killed him you've allowed his underling, Makarov, to take power. He uses the death of his formal associate as a martyr scenario to take power. His agenda is even more evil than Zakhaev's was. Makarov has secured a significant power base in Russia and is embarking on a plot to threaten global security.

Modern Warfare 2 Task Force 141This is when the international community dispatches the elite squad of Task Force 141 to stop Makarov. Part of TF141 is Cpt. 'Soap' MacTavish (CoD4:MW), now a NPC grizzled veteran helping you out on these dangerous missions.

Weapons - Oh my god. Check out the attachments! Insane.

New Multiplayer perks, Death streaks!!!! new Kill streaks too (SITTING AT THE GUN OF AN AC-130!!!) And new factions.

One more month to go and I can't wait bounce

I'm sure you've all seen screenshots so here's a less usual one that I wanted to comment on.... IRONMAN, ANYONE?! ;D

So exiting! Loved the first one, and it looks like the sequel will be just as fun.

Pre-ordered, booked, guaranteed will own!

LOVED Cod 4 both the single player story line and the awesome multiplayer(which despite me losing my profile multiple times i'm still going strong lol) It is the embodiment of FPS for the pc(yes i know it's on console also) and from the magazine review I've read recently COD4.2 tops the lot, one would think it near impossible to improve on such a balanced and enjoyable game....but cheers to infinity ward for always managing to pull off the impossible and doing it with COD 4.2! cheers

So, who's satisfied with the game? I know there are a few aspects that get on my nerves, such as the 1887's and lack of the 1911 pistol in MP...

The M9 makes up for it!

I'm level 54 now, fave weapons: ACR, M4A1 (so fucking awesome with FMJ), FAL for long distance, M9 always!!!, M1014, throwing knife for ninja humiliations, frag grenades to the back of the head for goofs. Playing a lot less than I used to but I'm always having a good time in MP.

I'm kinda disappointed by the Host Migrations and matchmaking systems, the inability to choose maps (HATE Karaki with a passion) and only 3 Hardcore modes. I want to play HC demolition or domination, goddamnit. Normal mode is for (apologies in advance) arcade-loving retards.

I'm not very good at this game but I'd like to think that I've gotten better at it since it came out. I didn't play much CoD4, since I'm more of a sci-fi girl than one into real-life scenarios, but my friends wouldn't quit nagging me until I played this one with them, so here I am.

I've grown to like certain things about the game, at least, and hate others as expected. I almost always run around with an LMG (mostly because it's a very sturdy weapon that doesn't have to reload often and I find can aim well. Also because it's my initials, but that's irrelevant to the gameplay). I also think that people who run around with dual shotguns and/or noob tubes are incredibly cheap and need to learn how to shoot. [Not saying that a good player can NEVER use them, but it's those that ONLY use them who get on my nerves.]

Other than that, the game is fairly straightforward and if they fix some of the bigger glitches it'll be even better in the future. Still, it's one of those things I prefer to play with friends rather than alone, but that's just me and my gaming preference I suppose. I like people watching my back, and in a game like this, it's important.

My only real complaint is the server and whatever their joining/hosting setup is.

Being as that Im in a large gaming group, on average we can get a large group together. The games pretty much unwilling to allow a full premade group in anything but ground wars and tends to be if you have more then 4 your going to have a hard time joining anything. Either half your group gets in or no one does.

We've spent alot of times in lobby, only for some or all of the group getting dropped out of the server. Basically over and over until we split into smaller groups or get lucky.
