| Long story short: On my school's robotics team, the theme this year is space and obviously the first thing I think of is 'Mando armor- heck yes!'. But the thing is, I've grown about five inches since I last planned to make armor (however I didn't due to school) and besides the fact that I would have to go to our team's warehouse to make the armor, I'm wondering if anyone has any good plate-shaping tutorials? I'm planning on doing generic male armor, except the torso being cut shorter for a female body. I just need to know how to hammer/mold it right so that I don't have to use the handbrake more than I have to (being fairly new to us). When I can, I'll upload a picture (since I don't think everyone has a CAD-file reader) of a basic drawing of my scheme. | |

| Bought some very leather-y looking vinyl for the kama and flak vest; very proud of myself that even though two different bolts of fabric, they look almost exact to the naked eye. Also- while I'm posting a reply to my own topic, anyone have a pattern for a kama that they'd be willing to share with me? I'm a student so I'm doing this on a budget, and if possible I like to not have to 'experiment' with my (small amount of) fabric, hehheh. | |

| It depends on the kind of kama you're making. Is it a 2-part kama with one for each leg? Is it a backside kama that just hangs from the back of your belt? Or is it a classic type kama that hangs around your entire waist, minus codpiece?
It's so simple to make that there are no patterns for kamas. You just need to try it on and measure/cut accordingly. | |
