See, for me it was the exact opposite. In both KOTOR 1 and 2, every time I got to hear one of Canderous' stories I'd plop my character down in front of him with a "kid in a candy store" look on their faces and listen to every to every word he said.
Reven (wide-eyed): Tell me a story, Canderous. {later} Canderous: . . . And then, after the Republic had won at Malacore V, they confiscated all of our weapons and Basilisk war droids and melted them down for scrap. Reven (angry): Bastards!!! AHAHA!! Me too! I always used to bug Canderous for a story in Kotor 1, waaay before I ever touched the RepCom game and fully understood what the "current time" Mandalorians were all about. When I played Kotor 2, my mando-affliction was even worse. I spent so much time on Dxun, even when I had completed all of the side-quests and killed just about every creature to be killed in the small portion of the forest you could explore. I even played with the idea of the Exile being adopted into the mando family after righting the horror that was Malachor V. (Again, before I got into RepCom and the mandalorian expansion that KT had a heavy hand in) (In general, I have a very soft spot for the Jedi Exile and her story, particularly because she is canonically female and not a hero out of choice but out of need and survival, which I feel is more interesting than Revan and his "stepping up to the plate" action. But that's another discussion for another time.) - Dha'Aden wrote:

(and I to am a fan of Canderous's stories) Me too, me too. So, in relation to this topic... has anyone here dabbled in the world that is KotOR mods? Check out these Crusader re-colors. After I played around with these mods, I absolutely fell in love with the armor and never took it off. However, they don't address the helmet issue... but the rest of the armor was pretty groovy. Speaking of which... does anybody know if there's a mod that allows to take Canderous' helmet off? It's not that his helmet is bad, in fact, it's the only formidable Mandalorian helmet in both games, it's just I want to see his face again...

| Newsflash! Newsflash! Bioware is so great at what they do, they actually decided to skip the process of designing a new kind of Mandalorian armour and instead brought this a reharshed dildo suit! | |

| I personally only like these helmets when drawn by Dustin Weaver for the comic series, but on this one it just looks out of place with those bulky plates. And not to mention you'd think the armours would get more compact after 300 years. | |

| I don’t know why some artists do this (I know I could be in for some flack for this…..but) there’s no practicable thinking going into the design, It looks like the designer was in a hurry maybe it was near his clocking off time. If he had to work in armour for twenty hours a day maybe a wee bit of more though would go into the design of it. Also the helmet eye slit is that small you would be cross eyed trying to see out. Gratulor’s name for it is perfect because you would feel like a dildo going to battle in it. | |

| The developers were thinking Mandalorian sounds like a gay bar. "We're going to the Mandalorian tonight for drinks" I love the games Bioware makes, but sometimes I think they're so caught up in making it "THIERS" they lose sight of why it was so awesome to begin with. | |

http://swg.wikia.com/wiki/Crusader_armorThe Rebel version was decent. Of course, I was Imperial and got stuck with the top picture when the Restuss armors came out. Being a medic, it was the only way I could get something sort of "Mando" in SWG, so I went with that. I never wore the helmet though. We always called it the "penis helmet" for obvious reasons, very similar to Daennika's choice of description. I don't know how the Mandos looked in Kotor when they ran, but when wearing that armor in SWG, it tilted one's head back and forth to the side so you looked like a total TOOL while running.

| I agree with Ladyofevilness. The armour itself is pretty darn cool, it just so happens that Bioware for some stupid reason has designed a god aweful helmet that isn't even a full helmet but actually a mask, and has so eloquently been described as a dildo. This beefier armour in the TOR concept art looks very sweet, if a little impractical, but again they have put a stupid helmet/mask on it spoiling the whole thing. Try holding your hand over the head and you will see what I mean. Without the helmet visible the armour actually looks pretty decent. Go on, try it...

I suppose the "Mandalorians" of the pre-Traviss era were a tradition of warriors that mercenaries would fall into without having to go through specific rules of inheritance. But what do I know? I skipped a lot of Canderous Ordo's monologues in KOTOR. *whiplashes Daennika* go back and listen to Ordo'buir's tales! [ buir = father ] They are inspirational :3 Anyway here's a lil addition to this conversation. I personally am hating the vast numbers of "Boba Fett" clone armors that are out there. Why? Because it's just too much of the same thing with only colors changing from time to time. I welcomed the Kotor armor with joy, and was happy to see that all mandalorians didn't always look like the "mordern" Boba or Jango armor. I do find the face plate to be very weird but after reading the comics I started to actually like this particular distinction. As for the "mechanics" I can imagine the neck area being like a flexible alloy that would let you turn your head around and the visor doesn't pose a problem to me. Buy'cese [helmets] and the technology behind them are top of the line. Even though the visor seems small I can easily imagine the view inside being adapted to the individual inside. Plus I like that there finally is some neck protection, it was overdue. But I liked the shock trooper helmets even more since they showed A LOT of variety in customizations. Now I would like to present you this lil piece I did with the help of a friend and MS paint XD

| I like the Crusader armours a whole lot more. Dustin Weaver designed more Mandalorian armours for 3 issues than I've seen anywhere, and did them well. I guess the reason Bioware wants to keep the uniformal concept is to get away with not being able to customise them. These two are my favorite: | |
