The Draw Yourself Meme!

I stole this from a LiveJournal meme I did back in February.

"I know we're all used to just taking 15 minutes out of our time to fill out a form survey or something, but this one's a little bit different. For this, you need to draw 2 pictures of yourself: One of what you look like now, and one of what you looked like at the very beginning of high school. Then, post comments about it. The idea is to see how much you've matured since then, show how big of attention whores we all were back then (or that we are now, for some), etc."

I'm going to do it again since my drawing has improved somewhat, but I am still quite the amateur. And so no one feels outshined by the great artists on the boards, my first version can be found HERE.

Not much of an age difference but I figured there was enough of an attitude change that I could still do the meme... that and I just wanted to draw myself all cartooney like
yes, I was a much less confident person a few years ago with my not-quite-as-awesome hair and my goth/emo make-up... I smile more often now (if only to reassure the people around me that I'm not contemplating suicide... seriously, people I barely know have come up and asked me this before, it's not my fault that my regular blank-faced/out of it expression makes me look like I'm an unfeeling robot who wants to kill everyone around me *sigh*)
My interests have basically stayed the same except that I found out about mandalorians, Invader Zim and Buffy the Vampire Slayer (although I've only seen a few episodes so far... grrrrr)... I also started belly-dancing (which is fun) and tai chi (which is also fun) which might have contributed to the confidence boost

oh, and I am much more of an attention whore right now as a freshie, I barely even talked to anyone so I couldn't have been... attention whoring? whoring for attention? ah well, however you make that all verb like

Wow Mantis that's some rapid metamorphosis you had, and it's reminding me a bit of my college years with the goth apparel. Were those boots New Rocks?

It was pretty crazy. I still wear the goth stuff from time to time because it's fun.
The boots were always whatever was cool and on sale the first shoe store I walked into (I have an irrational fear of shoe-shopping)
