Star Wars Weekends @ Disney World, FLORIDA

My family goes each year during the summer, for about a week or so. Around seven to eight days, which is wicked awesome, we've been going since I was about...errr 15/16. So about five to four years, we've gone each year. Around the third time we went back, we discovered something amaaaazing....

Star Wars Weekends!!!

Last year, my sisters and dad got the chance to meet the creative director of Star Wars: The Clone Wars, the original animated series. My dad and I are avid followers of the show and animation programs, and he asked him 'what program do you use? Toon Boom? Flash?' He chuckled and said something along the lines of 'if I told you, I'd have to kill you.' (Jk of course.)

Now in the past two years I'll admit, I haven't been as OMGOMGOMGDISNEY as I have been in the past. But this year, I simply CANNOT WAIT. Because we'll be going early to catch the last of the Star Wars Weekends...

ON. MY. BIRTHDAY. Oh. My God. I'm sorry if I sound like I'm bragging, but if I nerdgasm'd about this anywhere else, I'd never hear the end of it. XD My sister and I are both squealing like piglets each time we think about it, and we'd both just crap ourselves and die if Temuera Morrison was there. How wicked awesome would THAT be???

SO. Reason why I started this mini-thread: has anyone ever been, and if so, how awesome were all the clone/storm/desert troopers?! 8D My sister got a bunch of pictures taken with 'Jango Fett,' 'Shaak Ti,' and we all got pictures with Queen Amidala. <3 So brag! Tell me! Or ask me about it, if you have no clue what the hell I'm talking about.

(Wow what a way to introduce myself. 'OMGOMGOMGDISNEY, OMGBIRFDAY, OMG.' Lol. Self centered much? >>)

When my husband and I got married in May 2002, I planned our wedding and honeymoon completely around the release of Episode II and Star Wars weekends at DisneyWorld.

Would you believe that was the ONE year since Star Was Weekends began that DisneyWorld cancelled it instead to celebrate "60 Years of Mickey!" Ugh!!

I have never been to a Star Wars weekend, and it's just not feasible now until the kids are much older (my 3 year old isn't ready yet and my 13-year old stepson isn't interested...)

At least my husband and I have Star Wars Celebration V to look forward to in August this year.

Have fun in May, RapidHope, and I certainly can't wait to hear your stories from this year's Star Wars Weekends!

By the way, I *completely* understand the impending excitement and how you can't contain it.

Haha I've been to Star Wars Weekends once and it was a lot of fun. Bought a T-shirt that I never heard from again after that day. >_> I would love to go back some time, but I think it'll have to wait because this year all my money is going into Celebration V which also happens to be coming to Orlando this year.

One of the few times I'm glad to be a Floridian. XD (Normally I can't stand this state. :/)
