Since I don't have any Beskar'gam, and all I have is my Jedi costume, I'm hoping to wear that at C-5.

However, the boots I have for my costume are cheap, Wal-Mart $25 boots that don't fit me very well, and I can't imagine wearing them for an 8-12 hour day, especially if I'll be on my feet all day. I tried looking online for BROWN boots, approximately knee-high with a very low heel since boots are very much out of season right now.

So my question is: Has anyone ever bought boots online? I'm looking to see if I can afford a new pair of "Jedi" boots so that I can wear my Jedi garb at C5, and I'm afraid to buy boots without trying them on first. Let me know your experiences if you have.

Thanks!!

I know this is abit late, but i have bought boots online before, and they ended up being my favorite pair. Can't wear them anymore I wore out the zipper xD; But what I did was ordered a half size larger. Like insead of 8's I got 8 1/2 So you know that your will have a little wiggle room. I guess...hope this helps.

I actually found a pair of boots from Shoebuy.com about a month and a half before C5. They're Aerosoles that were marked down from around $160 to $40, and they served their purpose well. I broke them in for about a month prior to C5 and adjusted my costume to wear a pair of leggings instead of the Khakis I usually wear. I should probably get a picture posted soon, but I'm waiting on my buddy from Florida to send me his pics since he took all of them of me.

was peeking through a props and costume book and turns out that Obi-Wan's boots from episode I-III were nothing more than just brown riding boots. so if you're looking for a different pair of boots one day, keep that in mind ^^

When I've looked around the net for boots, I've noticed that any boot with "ridding" in it tend to be close to the 100-150 range...I suppose thats what you pay for quality. But if someone could find boots simular but much cheaper..in black that would ...well be awesome..send me a link! xD

I guess because I bought the boots in the summer (during the Riding Boots off-season) I got a huge discount. The exact same pair I got for $39 is now listed for $119!

Maybe check www.shoebuy.com out again in the summer, after the boot "fashion" dies down. That's probably when all the boots will go on sale and you'll find the discounted prices.

Otherwise, I got lucky a few years ago and found a decent pair in Wal-Mart for $29, but I haven't seen that same line of boots lately. They really changed their styles, and I'm actually stuck for a pair of the biker boot or military style that I wear normally. I'm considering getting my next pair of every-day boots either at an Army-Navy store or a biker's shop. Ugh.

I got my boots from your generic mall shop. Can't remember the cost. I actually don't remember when I got them either, but it must've been a while ago because the bottoms are pretty worn down.

Mostly, I just scrounge around sales racks and Goodwill (except they never seem to have shoes above size seven) and hope I find something.

Yea, those riding boots are expensive. My little sister and my mom are all interested in horses now and we go to this tack shop every once in a while. I saw the boots and thought "Sweet! Those boots are awesome! Not too fancy, though, they can't cost more than- wait... $150? yea, not buying this."
