(OOC) Planning Thread!

Kote, he probably threatened her or maybe threw something at her (missed her though) in frustration. Maybe he became suspicious of her for something or he just had a bunch of pent up rage and he let it out on her for no reason.

And then Hec would be shy and insecure because if Tyre knew that he respected him or something that maybe he'd take advantage of that. That and Hec's all "I DON'T NEED ANYBODY."


Posted a general description of Hec! I guess the next thing to do would be probably put up some general info on the game and then get the whole thing started!

I've been slacking! I'll post up something about Contardi and Isazu tonight hopefully.

As for Tyre's role in the conflict (just to sum up) - first, providing security to a group of frightened citizens who somehow were caught in the gang war, that is, making sure no one of them gets hurt by either side; second, working as a weaponsmith, mainly for the Red Flare; third, keeping an eye on Catra.

And Yuno's - being Hec's girl, selling intel to Kou, having strange relationships with Balin.

Is it OK? Did I forget anything? Because I have a feeling that I miss something.

Yep, I'm back and ready for action. I had planned my character as a Mando ex-mercenary who had gone into the large scale arms business, selling full-spec Grand Army and Imperial surplus guns. He would most likely deal to both sides, but I'm guessing RF has more funding and circulating credits the Scourge, and would buy premium quality stuff. Heck he could even supply Tyre with hard to find parts and weapons for modifications, if that's okay with you.

Other than that, his name is coincidentally Solus (Solus Auurin). Dunno if that's really a problem...

Revan, it's absolutely ok with me. Tyre would certainly need supplies for his work, and as Mandos tend to bunch together, it's pretty logical that he deals with his compatriot. Do we write some background story for them or just leave them be business partners?

Why would it be a problem? There's lots of people who have the same names on Earth, so I don't see why it can cause problems in the Galaxy Far Away.

It's fine to have two characters with the same name, but you either have to include the first and last name every time someone writes about your character or have them go by an alias or last name. Not to be a ninnypants, it just makes this easier and to avoid any possible confusing for players.

I'm working on an information page for the game. The page will also include rules. I've dealt with player disappearance and inactivity countless times before so they are going to be long. This is so everyone knows what to expect. It lists more of the process and how things will work. If you have strong objections to one of the rules or part of a rule, then please post your objections and give me a good reason to change it.

One other thing, we need a game name.
I think we've been calling it Gang Bang for awhile and I think we should figure out a more appropriate name. Also I'm making this game PG-13 because that's the rating on the board and everyone has access to this forum.

Hey Rev i have no prob with you havign the same name as Solus, hehe lol they could even be from the same clan, besides great minds think alike ^^

Anyways my background is only half done :? cause it's long and complicated and i'm trying to make it simple and easy to understand (not that i'm writing it in mando but you know what i mean )

Game name eh? Well maybe we should first think of what this is about the focus of the story and the location/locations
1. We know it's gonna be on coruscant
2. A war between to rival gangs

two points so far, hmmm just wondering if it'd need a practical name or a flashy one that just sounds good

If need be Solus (my Solus that is) can be nicknamed Tor from time to time? unless Revan has a better nickname to give his...this could be quite interesting if they other people get confused between the two (as part of the role play). Give me a shout Rev if it's ok with you that your Solus an my Solus are from the same clan...

I just slapped on a practical name for now. I just need general description of the game. If someone wants to volunteer and do that let me know. Otherwise I might just write it up soon.

What we really need to work on now is threads. Don't be shy or indifferent about what or who you want a thread with. Figure out something fun you want to play and work it out with the other players.

My contribution is Gang War: Fortune's Fools.

I can be in charge of doing a Scourge group thread with Contardi, Isazu, Saki, Kou, and maybe Tyre was invited too (for reasons that can be materialized :p). Did I miss anyone in Scourge?

Anyway, beyond that, (and this is just a suggestion) it would be cool if the weapons boys (Tyre and Auurin) had a sort of open thread for any of the gang members to stop by and make deals. That would result in some Red Flare/Scourge interactions. Do you guys think Tyre or Auurin would have a storefront somewhere, or is it more like "meet me at this place and we'll talk"?

As for Auurin, it's definitely a 'Meet me at this location and we'll talk'. He mostly deals in bulk, so it would usually end up being a higher ranking mob stooge meeting him. Plus he's gotta move the kit around, as I'm sure the authorities aren't too happy about this particular line of business.

Does anyone want to play with Balin?

Would certainly help keep things orgainised, (unless of course they're living in each others backyards ^^)

Would Tyre and Auurin's thread (if it comes into being) be the only open place to meet or would we have another one like a cantina..unless this is gonna get to complicated..cause how are we going to keep track of everyone hmmmm

Oh yes, a cantina is a given open thread for awesome shenanigans.

The only thing that we have to worry about is the timeline, but that's sort of a case-by-case thing. I RPed on a site that was open and sometimes players would have to be like "By the way, this thread takes place after George got engaged to Mary" even if the thread where George proposes is still being worked on. Just little clarifications can help any discrepancies, but normally there aren't any huge problems.

What might help is a post where all on-going threads are listed with a timeline of sorts, but I think it should only come to that if things get super wonky.

Sorry, guys, I'm being slow, but the exams are coming and the thesis kills my brain. I'll try not to fall out from the thread.

Tyre is staying in some cantina, and as his job is all about "I'm here, I'm watching that you don't mess with the civvies, and if you do, you're in trouble", that is, about his presence being widely known, so I think he may well meet customers right there. As for cantina, shall I write about it? Maybe I also can generate some civvy NPC's, like, some small shop owners and such, just to bring some life. Should I?

Tenna, concerning Balin: he is going to have some intercourse with Yuno, isn't he? And maybe he could come to a kind of friendly terms with Tyre. As far as I remember, he's trying to restore an old flyer, and Tyre loves repairing things. He's not particularly good with the vehicles, but he could give a hand, however unskilled. And somehow I have a feeling they could deal with each other quite well.

Fortune's Fools sounds quite nice, to my mind, btw. =)

And i know that while Solus is a body guard for the Red Flare (Black Sun) gang leader, he could also be possibly sent on trips to make deals with Tyre, and possibly see what the rival gang is purchasing? So they know what they're contending with, though Solus would do such services grudgingly no matter how much he enjoy's his work...not the sneaky type

I think it'd be pretty good to add npc regulars to the cantina most definitly would give it that more realistic feel.

Auurin would be putting everything on the table, regardless of who's buying. I'm fine with you being the RF buyer for my goods, if you're interested.

We're pretty much ready to go. Catika's going to write up a description for the game, but we don't really need it to start playing. Let's just get the threads organized so everyone's character or characters has something to do.

Sorry that this post really doesn't put things in action. I just wanted everyone to know that I'm still here.

Yes I am writing the description! It's.. started, at least. I'll work on it more tomorrow.

Kote, thank you so much for taking the lead on the cantina! I love the idea of calling it Fortune's Fools because it gives context for the title, but do whatever you want. Would you mind starting that thread? All you would need to do is basically post a description of what the place looks like, then everyone else can post in it as needed. If not I could do it, whatever works.

Catika, no problem! I feel kinda honoured to have the cantina's name connected with the whole game's name. I'll write it today or tomorrow, along with the NPC's.

Late?! We've hardly begun! You're totally welcome! Take a look at the bio threads if you want to see the types of characters already in play. And a quick summary if you don't want to peruse this obscenely long thread:

Red Flare is a satellite gang of the Black Sun (leader is Hec Kohler, NPC)
Scourge is a rival gang whose head was once a member of Red Flare but broke off (leader is Contardi Veigh, NPC)

Red Flare is more "corporate" and is all about funding suspicious activities and hiring out its members for protection and things like that. Scourge is more down and gritty with drug and slave trafficking as well as black market weapons and the like.

Let us know if you have any more questions and feel free to contact any of the players to incorporate your character!

Did you have any specific plans for your character? Maybe he's working for a civilian and gets caught up in gang warfare?


Oh no it's almost the end of the month...

I want to put together a list of threads so I know everyone has a place they can post. I know there's the Fortune's Fools Cantina thread. The rest I'm not sure about. Is Fortune's Fools a neutral area or does Red Flare or Scourge own it? Or is it owned by Red Flare and Scourge members are hanging out there?

Given his status as officially KIA as far as the storm trooper corps is concerned, Grit tries his best to keep himself on the down low, and get by quietly. As for gang involvement, I see Scourge somehow finding out about him being a clone wars veteran, and trying to recruit him on that, and Grit then having to square with Scourges less savory activities and deciding how to act on that knowledge.

Also, with the permission of management, I have a secondary character I plan to be the catalyst
of Grit's change of heart, and the decider of how much it sticks.
